I need a job, do you have any? |

We are a system designed to provide you with resources and skills necessary to enhance your job search. A wide array of services are available to help businesses find quality workers and to help job seekers obtain employment. At your first visit to one of our offices, located in a Southwestern Illinois WorkNet Center, we recommend you sign up to attend an orientation to introduce you to all the services available at the Center. If you prefer, you may call to register. |

Can you help me with a resume? |

Yes, we have a user-friendly software program (Win-Way Resume) that you can use to type your resume. Winway prompts you through the resume format, helpful phrases to explain your skills and the cover letter process. If you need assistance with this software, there is always someone on staff available to help. We save your resume to a disc and provide you with up to 20 printed copies per day if needed. You can then come in anytime and get additional copies or make changes to your resume. We also fax resumes to perspective employers.

Can you help pay for my school/training/college? |

There is certain criterion that needs to be met for us to assume sponsorship, but you can make an appointment with a Career Specialist today to explore your options. |

We are open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. |

There is no charge for our services. |

Can I apply for unemployment benefits here? |

In our East Alton Office, we are partnered with the Illinois Department of Employment Security, who can help you apply for unemployment benefits. |

No. But we would be happy to put you in touch with agencies that can assist with childcare. |

Can I use the computer in the resource centers anytime?

In most cases you can. There are times when we have scheduled our computers for classes or special assessments. Please ask at each office. |

All of our job search services are available to you to help you find suitable employment. If you feel that you have the necessary job hunting skills to find employment then we can be a resource to help you research and locate area businesses. We can also provide you with information about upcoming job fairs, job openings etc. |

Illinois WorkNet is a web site specifically designed for Illinois job seekers and businesses. Connect to jobs, educational opportunities, resources and services at www.illinoisworknet.com. |

What is cTORQ? |

It is a personal employment planner where you input your information about your skills. The job seeker may download and print a report for review and the program will match you with jobs and also alternative occupations. |

What type of assistance do you provide for persons with disabilities? |

All of our regular services are accessible to persons with disabilities. In our East Alton and Greenville Offices, we have a computer station especially designed for persons with disabilities. It is physically accessible and has software, which allows the user to make accommodations. We also work hand in hand with partner agencies that are advocates for the disabled population. |

I do not live in this county, but I need / want training. What do I do?

Each county receives its own funding for training. You will need to go to the Illinois WorkNet Center in your area. We can direct you to the appropriate center in your county. You are, however, welcome to use our other services whenever you would like. |
